Local search, not lead fees
My own venture: a photography site and local search setup built to win Phoenix metro leads without paying per lead.
View live siteThe Problem
I needed portrait and event clients across the Phoenix metro with no ad budget and no reputation yet.
The Approach
Own the channels. A site built for local search, a Google Business Profile, and one landing page per city. I tested Thumbtack first, then dropped it.
Product call: Tested Thumbtack and dropped it. Pay-per-lead pricing was too high and lead quality was poor.
I built the site and six city landing pages (Phoenix, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, Scottsdale), all submitted for indexing in Search Console, with the sitemap under the domain property. SEO and answer engine optimization went into every page, GA4 handles tracking, and a Google Business Profile is set up as a service-area business across the same six cities.
Product call: Narrowed the Google Business Profile categories to what the site sells, dropping wedding and commercial.
Build call: One landing page per city instead of one page listing all six.
The Results
Live at photo.tuhamiconsulting.com. Six city pages, a six-city service area, and 3 Google reviews so far. Early: it's the foundation, not a lead-volume claim.
